very good experience to stay at Awasthi Kozi. This is safe and quite place for stay.
I came with my family for Visa . Visa center is walking distance and also Connaught Place, Bangla Sahib Gurudwara and Hanuman Temple , Jantar Mantar to see the place and enjoy. It is comfortable place.
Specially thanks to Ms Deepika and Pradeep who made the tasty foods for our family.
Really love this property.

AVOID AVOID AVOID
The description of the property or the area does not match the reality. The area is one of the most derelict in New Delhi and the property reflects this. The electrics were dangerous (exposed wiring in the bathroom) and the plumbing (shower) looked impossible to use.

Home feel and quiet location, but my room was opposite reception and foreigners can only pay in cash

Nice homestay feel in a quiet location. I felt taken care of - Santosh sent me the address the day before I arrived and had someone collect me from the station. He always asked how my day was and called one night when I was out late to check if I was okay. I liked that you could order food anytime and I can also confirm that the wi-fi and laundry service were good.
Disliked:
Payment - There is a card machine, but it doesn't take foreign cards. I know cash is still king in India, but I'm not comfortable carrying around large amounts of it. I tried two different cards to pay for my stay (one of which had been used successfully to pay for accommodation near the airport the previous night) and then it eventuated that the card reader didn't take foreign cards. This was highly stressful, particularly as it was on my first full day in India by myself.
FYI, SBI ATM accepted my card for withdrawing money; Indian Bank and Bank of Baroda didn't. And you can only withdraw cash in 10,000 INR increments!
Room - Whilst the property was in a quiet location, my room didn't have windows and was opposite reception, so I heard a lot of noise through the walls. I also found the bed a bit hard, and I usually like harder beds!
These things didn't bother me, but as a heads up, the heater needs to be switched on for at least 5 min prior to having a warm shower (I didn't really need one as it was so hot) and there's not much of a barrier to prevent water from the shower overflowing to the rest of the bathroom floor.
