Indescribable
Even though this is a five star property, it feels laid-back and not overly ritzy. It’s definitely worth walking around though, so you can enjoy the beauty of this place.
The breakfast spread was impressive, with something for everyone. The servers always knew how to make us feel special and always remembered our preferences. Staff was friendly and helpful in every way. There were DVDs for use at the front desk, and within 2 minutes for calling down to make my request, there was a knock at our door! Our room was cleaned morning and night which was great. The pool was warm even though it's sill early April, and we were even able to jump into the ocean and feel the salty water!
Special shout out to the hotel for providing a complimentary shuttle to and from Amalfi, at quite frequent intervals throughout the day. Another great point is the gym here, it's got beautiful views and don't let the size fool you- it literally has everything you need with it's brand new multi-purpose machines. The bed in our room was so comfortable, and clean. The water-pressure was great. I literally have no complaints.
Overall this is a great resort! I’m glad we had the chance to discover this amazing place! I will certainly be recommending this property to all of my clients interested in the Amalfi coast due to everything I mentioned above as well as the proximity to everything else in the area. We even want to spend our honeymoon here :)

Disappointing pit stop
In addition, I had to personally ask for the slippers and shower cap, which were not present on site and other courtesy kits, but only available on request, a not insignificant detail. Breakfast was a big disappointment: the offer was quite poor, with poor quality croissants and terrible coffee. What is more, some of the coffee was accidentally spilled and not even replaced. The buffet was almost exclusively sweet and lacked savoury options.
The only positive note was the cleanliness of the rooms, which were well maintained and tidy. However, this is not enough to offset the other negatives. In conclusion, I would not recommend this hotel and would certainly not stay there again.

Best experience of my life!!
Fisciano (SA) it was beautiful from the moment I arrived until I left. When I arrived at Hotel Santa Caterina
Fisciano (SA) I was pleasantly greeted by a nice man, who happened to be the owner. He showed me to my room, and gave me everything I needed. I forgot my toothbrush so he provided free of charge (which he didn't have to do) later that evening I went for dinner, the service was great and the food was delicious. I had fish , it was the best fish I had ever tasted. The owner than came to me and said would you like to try some of my families home made wine. Which I did and was also the best wine I had ever tasted. The meal was lovely from start to finish and was looked after like one of the family when I was just a normal person coming to Italy. After dinner I went to my room, the room was lovely, cozy and most of all very clean! I had a very good nights sleep. In the morning I went for breakfast and was greeted by the owner again. I was shocked to see the owner as much as I did. As I saw him at 11:00pm at night and back at 7:00am in the morning.
My stay in Italy was perfect and couldn't of gone any better. The hotel made my holiday so much better than anywhere else I have ever stayed. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Italy, Salerno. Grazi Millie !!!!!

Paradise Found
The friendly front desk staff found accommodations for my party of eight for three non-consecutive days and four nights. Our stay involved several rooms changes, which the hotel handled for us seamlessly--moving our luggage and rollaways and setting us up in our new space without any inconvenience to us. Having had over six different rooms during our stay, I can say with some authority that there is not a bad room or a bad view at the Hotel Santa Caterina. Every room was richly appointed and every view was spectacular. Hats off to housekeeping as the rooms were spotless.
What we particularly enjoyed was the beach club. Swimming in the Tyrrhenian Sea is delightful in August! A glass elevator takes guests down the side of the mountain to a little oasis by the sea. Chairs, towels and umbrellas are provided. The food and beverage service is speedy and the seaside menu had offerings that satisfied my large group from ages 11 to 47. The hotel also provides flotation devices, snorkeling equipment and paddle boards free of charge.
Dining was a highpoint as well. Breakfast is served on a patio overlooking the water. A sumptuous buffet is accompanied by eggs prepared any style. Although I did not eat dinner at the hotel, drinks and snacks on the patio in the evening were delightful, with Pino giving me two desserts when I couldn't choose! I can't wait to go back!
