Great location 5 mins walk from the lovely sandy beach
We booked this hotel at short notice due to a problem with our original booking in Gran Canaria. I think we made a lucky choice. We both loved our apartment 58A with its roomy terrace, fabulous views, big bathroom, kitchen area, sitting room with 2 sofas and bedroom. The apartment location was superb, within easy walking distance to the beach, minimarts, pools, restaurant & bar. There are no concessions on the beach so we bought a couple of chairs which we had to leave behind. (Tip for hotel - I’m sure you could do great business hiring out chairs, sunbeds & parasols to your guests who want to use the beach.) The hotel’s location is also excellent. It’s ten mins walk along the front to the port at Playa Blanca. It’s quite a bit further to the centre and marina area with loads of bars, restaurants and a great market. We got a taxi but there are regular buses.
We were all inclusive and loved our breakfasts on the terrace (go early for an outside table). But we ate out quite a lot as the hotel food was just not up to the standard we expect. There was plenty of choice but hot food was lukewarm. Except the soup - that was nice & hot. If we returned to this hotel we’d go b&b, eat out and use the kitchen in the apartment. The hotel restaurant was awful. Due to its semi-basement location, all the lights were always blazing. That, and the functional square wooden furniture reminded me of a school canteen. It was the only aspect of our holiday that we didn’t love.
Good restaurants we tried at the beach were Casa Joaquin and Taverna.
We didn’t use the swimming pool(s) but they looked lovely & there were always plenty of sunbeds.
We only visited the bar area a couple of times - it was a bit soulless but the entertainment team was brilliant. I expect it’s better in the summer when it’s warmer to sit outside.
Our apartment was kept spotless by the cleaning team.
So nearly 5 stars from me. It was only the dining room and cold food that let this lovely hotel down.

What a gem!!!
I have been transferred to this hotel from another and what a treat! Mostly I stay with 4 stars hotels, but that was a huge surprise! What a location!!!!! Beach and walk path of your doorstep! Ideal for w long walks, runs and having a wine adoring sunset… Plenty of shops and market close by! Food great and staff very helpful! Definitely will be coming back as my family fell in love with the whole “picture”!

We went all inclusive and the food was great. Wine on tap was lovely. Cocktails at the bar were a bit hit or miss. Entertainment was very good the Tui team really put their heart and soul into it , the country western show on our last night was fabulous, loved that some of the staff from other departments joined in too. Already checking availability for this year.

Disgusting customer care from reps
This hotel isn't very safe unless you are able bodied. I slipped on the ramp to the launderette (no handrails) causing injury to my foot and a hospital visit leaving with crutches. The reps at this hotel are disgraceful apart from kids club who couldn't do enough for us after my accident. The reps basically told me to stay in my room for the remainder with food being delivered to me. After care is shocking.

You Get What You pay For
My husband and I have just returned from a weeks stay at this hotel.
We had visited 9 years previous but weren’t overly impressed so didn’t return.
We decided, despite some woeful reviews to give it a punt as we were looking for a cheap week in the sun, knew the resort and had at the hotel the option to cook if we desired as all apartments have a working kitchen and a dining table.
I’ll start with the accommodation. It’s not been updated at all in the 9 years since we last visited. Badly in need of renovation.. very very tired. That said the place was spotlessly clean and the shower strong and hot. The beds have received complaints as they are 2 singles pushed together.. so not ideal for a couple but we found them very comfortable. The apartment door took a bit of closing but a good bang and it was done.
The public areas at the hotel are just awful.. completely soulless . Plastic tables and chairs in the main bar and the pool bar. Not a hint of comfort to be had.
The pool bar was the one we used during the day and was fine for alcoholic and soft drinks. Food was basic and the hot food was as described by others cold on occasion.
The main bar in the evening.. worst ever. Appalling entertainment. We just popped in for drinks and headed outside.
The main buffet restaurant where we had breakfast and dinner (although we did eat out on a few occasions) had a decent standard of food. Huge selection to suit everyone. I’ve had a lot worse at more expensive hotels. Bare in mind this is rated 2 Star.
Our only issue with the main restaurant was it was like a school canteen. Miserable dining experience really. Again like the rest of the public areas it needs work. The staff are under the cosh a bit.. not enough of them.
The pool areas are clean and there was never a shortage beds so no real complaints in that area.
If your on a budget it’s not the worst. The staff are lovely and very helpful which is always a big plus!
We won’t be back however. Not for us.
