My new favorite hotel brand

We spent three nights at The Mosey Hotel in Williamsville and it was a great experience. It’s close enough to the places that we were visiting and very easy to get to. There’s a lot to do in the area, but unfortunately, the weather was not on our side this time of year. We were there for a concert at the Riviera in North Tonawanda, and visiting friends on Grand Island.
The Hilton Tapestry brand is my new favorite. I’ve stayed in three now and all three were memorable. Each one has a unique style and personality. They don’t feel like your typical hotel and they’re not crazy expensive. I think it’s worth it to spend a little bit more for a much better experience. One of the things I like about them the most is the bathrooms. Their bathrooms are spacious and well-designed, with attention to detail in color choices, textures, and overall aesthetic. The ones I have been in feature Grohe fixtures, great lighting, huge mirrors and large countertops. Towels are always abundant and readily available if you ask.
The beds are always comfortable and cozy and regular pillow options. Plenty of outlets in the room and the room lighting itself is always perfect.
This one has a parking garage attached to it and there is electric vehicle charging available right outside the portico door entrance. If you use it, be sure to plan to move your car as soon as it’s finished because this one will charge you five dollars an hour if you leave it plugged in after your charge is complete We did not have the opportunity to check out the restaurant unfortunately but it looked very nice. There’s plenty of shopping and local restaurants and breakfast places nearby.

My third stay--and I'll keep coming back!

I love the decor at this modern-feeling hotel. The rooms are spacious, and the mattresses are very comfortable with a soft duvet. It's got an excercise room with a Peloton bike! That was a new one to me and much appreciated. The staff is also helpful, friendly, and kind. They have on-site laundry facilities, too, as well as a swimming pool and a really solid restaurant. Plenty of food options within walking distance, too.

Not A Great Experience

I usually stay at the Hampton Inn, but I decided to give The Mosey a try. It was a mistake. I arrived in the late afternoon, and Jayden checked me in. From the minute I arrived, he had an arrogance. There was no warm welcome, no mention of my Diamond status. I asked if there were any upgrades available. Before I could hardly finish my sentence, he said we were sold out. I asked why they don't try to preblock their elite members in upgraded room in the morning and not wait till the person arrives. I usually arrive late, so there is usually no chance of getting an upgrade.
I was just in Asia and Europe, and every hotel thanked me for being a Diamond. I would say I was upgraded nine out of my ten stays, even though those hotels were sold out. I wonder why it's so hard here in the US to do the same, especially in the lower-brand hotels.
The room looked clean on the surface, but the coffee maker was full of dust when the coffee and cups. The headboard had dust all over it.
I had a colleague traveling with me who checked in earlier with status, and he was treated the same way, so it wasn't just me. I had been up since 4am PDT and traveled all day. I don't need an attitude when checking in.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. I am very sorry that Jayden did not give you a proper welcome or concern for your request. Although our hotel is 119 rooms we only have 11 suites at our property, therefore it is very rare we are able to extend an upgrade. All of our guestrooms are well equipped with microwaves, refrigerators, Keurig coffee makers, 55 inch televisions with a large assortment of channels and complimentary WIFI. Meh at best.

Very uneven experience. Well located close to many stores and restaurants, but rooms, while spacious, are poorly designed for recreational travelers, with the (single) sink, toilet, and shower all in one space. Our room also had a huge open dead spot in the corner, as if a chair or sofa had been removed and never replaced. There was a built in bench for a suitcase, but when I asked the night staff for an extra suitcase stand (there were TWO of us) they looked at me as if I had asked for a neutron particle accelerator. Literally no idea what I was talking about. Finally got something delivered late the next day.
TV was complicated and did not allow you to select channels; instead you had to scroll through every station to find the one you wanted, every time. Channels, I guess, are so 2000!
Finally, despite a fully stocked bar, the new restaurant could not serve alcohol - some problem with the liquor license.
Would I stay here again? Maybe.

Thank you for your feedback from your previous stay. Our tv's recently went through an upgrade with Hilton and that is the way they have set it up. Unfortunately, we cannot change the layout of it as it is a Hilton standard. All clerical issues with the liquor license have been cleared up effective today, so Steelbound is back open for their full service and hours of operation. We hope to welcome you back so you can enjoy the restaurant as well.
