We came down from Durham for a model show. The room was perfect and the staff helped us to combine two different 1 day stays into one combined stay in the same room. Super service. We also tremendously enjoyed the on site restaurant, Reel. The food was excellent, the service great and the prices very reasonable. We loved it. The room was fabulous overlooking the ocean and we really enjoyed sitting on the veranda, so much that we didn't even walk on the beach

Not for me!
Rugs frayed and stained, toilet paper holder hanging off the wall, air conditioner smashed in and noisy, balcony table loose screws and tipping. We had to call twice to fix the tv. Housekeeping never showed up for the three days we were there…had to call for clean towels. The beds and pillows were lumpy and poor quality. The hot breakfast was adequate only. Basically the only thing this hotel had going for it was it was clean and the staff were wonderful.

**A Brutally Honest Review from a Traveling Family: A Nightmare Stay**
We recently spent a week at this resort in early December for two milestone birthdays, and our experience left much to be desired. While we’ve stayed at numerous hotels, motels, and resorts for sports leisure, this one was particularly disappointing.
**The Positives:**
Let’s start with the good. The resort boasts a fantastic ocean view and beautiful sandy beaches where we could even see dolphins from our 7th-floor room. The location is a highlight, but unfortunately, it was overshadowed by numerous issues that made our stay feel more like a nightmare than a vacation.
**Cons:**
1. **Multiple Unauthorized Charges:**
Our credit card was charged 13 times during our stay, sometimes even twice in one day. Despite notifying the staff, no one took responsibility. My bank even called to confirm if it was fraud. The hotel’s policy states that charges would only occur at the end of the stay, which was not followed. Additionally, we could never reach a manager or general manager to address our concerns.
2. **Safety Hazard:**
I sustained an injury in our room due to metal tacks sticking out of the carpet, necessitating a visit to urgent care. This was a serious safety concern that should have been addressed more promptly.
3. **Room Damage:**
Upon checking into our room, we noted damage in the bathroom/wall/floor. The staff acknowledged it but offered no apologies or solutions—just a vague promise to make a note of it.
4. **Security Issues:**
The security door on the 3rd floor of the upper parking area was not secure, allowing free access to anyone. While there were respectful individuals who are unhoused in the garage, it’s still an uncomfortable situation for families, my 15 year old son escorted a young lady and child to their car.
**Additional Considerations:**
- **Parking:** Be prepared to pay $15 per day for parking.
- **Breakfast:** While breakfast is complimentary, it’s hit or miss. The waffle makers had a long wait time, and the hotdogs served as breakfast items were perplexing. The oatmeal was particularly watery, like we don’t understand how any one can make it like soup. ( suggestion Smoothie bar & turn on the TV’s )
The cheese eggs & the potatoes with peppers were great.
- **Pool and Hot Tub:** The resort lacks indoor pools or hot tubs even though the site and some staff confirmed they did -
They are semi covered allowing cold air in and the options were not well-maintained until closer to the weekend.
- **Local Use of Facilities:** We noticed locals using the side showers, which was not an issue for us, but something to be aware of especially if you have young children.
The semi covered pool and hot tubs areas are located within the area of the parking garage. The bathrooms were locked outside until Thursday afternoon.
- **Cats:** There are five cats around the pool area, likely beach cats due to the pet-friendly policy. While cute, families with young children should be cautious.
- **Family Activities:** The resort claims to be family-friendly, yet lacks engaging activities for families, especially during the off-season. Games or organized activities would be a great addition for off season.
- **Laundry Facilities:** The laundry room on the 8th floor has only one washer and dryer, each costing $2.00 (8 coins) - The Washer takes 22 minutes. A wall folding table would be helpful or a chair, thank god for bath towels to sit on. However the Hotel provides laundry detergent- we brought our own.
**Staff Commendation:**
Despite the issues, the restaurant chef was incredible and bar staff, especially Mike, Steven, and the Portuguese gentleman, made our experience at the restaurant enjoyable. However, my teen was disappointed that none of the slushy machines offered non-alcoholic options.
We were also a bit disappointed that they didn’t have any holiday themed snacks or drinks Also the 9pm closure was a major setback.
**Conclusion:**
This hotel may be suitable for snowbirds, traveling groups, or business professionals needing a short stay. I bet this is an amazing place particularly in the busier summer months. However, for families looking to enjoy a winter vacation, I would recommend exploring other options.
Also the piers close by are private & cost $3.00 per person however it’s an all day wristband…

Good staff. Reasonable value.
The hotel is fine. Great views and the staff were helpful and friendly. We had issues with our bathroom sink which took 2 attempts to fix but they did the work upon the first request both times. The hotel was clean throughout. We had issues with the room next door smoking weed and the hotel moved us to a very nice room. It was inconvenient to move but they were very accommodating. Breakfast was standard hotel fair. They rotated hot items which my husband appreciated. Very little fresh fruit but otherwise fine. Decent value for the price. Pools were clean other than sand that people tracked in from the beach. The pool area could use some beautification but it was very functional. We would stay here again.

We are in the process of completing our pool renovation work and will be adding several enhancements over the next couple of weeks. We hope you will return soon to see the improvements! We also wanted to apologize for the guest smoking. As we are a non-smoking hotel, the guest should have been evicted.
