Nice room but the smell

Large room, sitting room separate from bedroom. Good location. No king size beds unless you rent a two bedroom. Typical breakfast prefab omelets, bacon, pancakes, assorted breads, biscuits and gravy. Large breakfast room with workers that worked as fast as they possibly could. The building must be old because the room freshener they used was everywhere and very strong with a cheap, unpleasant odor. Other than the smell, it was fine.

Know Before You Book

Know before you book. PROS: Great location for Plantation, FL and excellent hot breakfast. CONS: The roof is being replaced and it is noisy all day. Also, this hotel needs A LOT of work. Our family had two rooms. The hotel hallway outside one room on the third was soaked from a plumbing leak (source unknown). The sink within the hotel room also leaked. Construction across the hallway started at 8 am. On another floor we had a toilet backup issue but no maintenance available at 10pm. They handed us a plunger for a do-it-yourself. The coffee pot was cracked and leaking, but they did replace it for us. No housekeeping unless you ask for service. This is a pet friendly hotel and there were lots and lots of dogs during our stay seemingly more than other pet friendly hotels we've stayed at. You can, however, get a non-pet friendly room. Because of the location, we would stay here again if we had to, but we would do so knowing it's a little rough.

We returned to stay at this hotel as we had stayed here before and liked the location and kitchen facilities and convenient groceries across the street. However, there are renovations underway and although we were not directly impacted, it was not great walking through halls with large fans located throughout and there were occasionally workers on the roof, If this work was noted in the description when booking, I didn’t see it. Also, for a large facility, there are only twelve lounge chairs at the pool and were frequently saved with towels all day. Otherwise, good clean space and stil convenient to neighborhood amenities.

Excellent Service and Outstanding Hospitality from Antonia!

I always have an amazing stay at Sonesta Suites, and a huge part of that was and is thanks to Antonia, the manager. From the moment I arrive, she goes above and beyond to ensure everything is perfect. Her warm welcome, attention to detail, and willingness to accommodate special requests makes my experience truly exceptional.
Antonia leads her team with professionalism and kindness, creating a welcoming and comfortable atmosphere for guests. She was/is always available, checking in to make sure I always have everything I need . Her dedication to customer service is unmatched, and it’s clear she takes great pride in making guests feel valued.
I highly recommend staying at Sonesta Suites and if you have the pleasure of meeting Antonia, you’ll see why this hotel stands out. Thank you, Antonia, for making my stay unforgettable—I’ll definitely be returning!
