Brilliant food and amazing staff
Amazing food and very friendly staff! Thank you for accommodating our large group for a family get together! Food was lovely even for our picky eaters and staff were incredibly helpful. A lovely place that I will be returning and recommending to others - thank you

Tried again but again left disappointed
We went for Sunday lunch over a year ago and wasn't happy with the quality then but that was quite some time ago so today tried again... And again!! Disappointed.. I ordered roast beef and my hubby had the Sunday duo.. I thought at £16 and £17 we had ordered adult portions but when the meals arrived they were more for a child...
I had 2 small slices of beef, one piece had quite abit of fat on it, 5 very small overcooked toasties which if you put the pieces back together would be the size of one potato, they had no potato in them so very crispy and overcooked! I had 1 piece of broccoli, 1 piece of cauliflower (which was supposed to be cauliflower cheese), 4 small chunks of carrots and a tablespoon of peas.. the Yorkshire was nice and big, thankfully as I was starving... And unfortunately left still feeling pretty hungry and £40 poorer :( and that was after my blue light discount...
I won't be coming for lunch again, such a shame as it's a lovely pub but I think il stick to somewhere that serves a carvery

Greenking requested review
Greenking ask that we leave a review in the hope that they can improve the experience, well here goes.
Things that could improve. When guests have rented a room perhaps somebody should turn on the radiator prior to them booking in especially in the colder months. Nice room and bathroom with a great shower but, it would be better if the towel rail worked.
The staff are really nice we should mention Kelly the receptionist. The restaurant and bar staff are again pleasant my ony gripe would be that the bar staff seem unwilling to clear dirty glasses from tables.

A very clean room
We stay occasionally. The staff are always very friendly.
This time we wanted to comment that the bedroom was realy efficiently cleaned , smelt clean and was very welcoming - Well done to the Housekeeping team who do not always get a mention.
And the heating was kept on all night which was comforting

Huge improvement recently
We live nearby and are frequent visitors, up until recently it has been a hit and miss experience but I am glad to say that since Laura has made a return there has been a dramatic turnaround in standards. Well done!
We have had lunch for the last few weeks and it has been a very pleasant experience and I am glad (and relieved) that things are looking up.
