Birthday celebration.
My Wife and I had a Fantastic dinner in the Glasshouse buffet restaurant. The selection and quality of food is always amazing. The seafood selection, on the starters bar is absolutely banging. Eva our waitress could not have been more Professional and attentive. The team of chefs are so helpful & Knowledgeable. We are truly grateful to everyone who made our evening, the Best.

Never Again… Terrible
We have just returned home from staying two nights at The Grove. The reason we chose this hotel was because it looked a great family hotel and we were visiting the Harry Potter tour nearby. I was expecting a hotel with extremely high standards given that the price per night for a basic room was over £600.
We were left very disappointed and dissatisfied with the hotel and definitely will not be returning nor would I recommend it to anyone.
A couple of key points as to why we felt the way we did:
•Assertiveness of the hotel before arriving.
I tried to reach out to the hotel on numerous occasions (by phone and email) before arriving to talk about paying for our room before arrival but I couldn’t get through to anyone. I then got a reply back with the wrong information that I needed so I never got any further forward in the space of trying 3 days before our arrival date. The communication factor is appalling for the standard that the hotel rates itself. This filled me with concern ahead of arriving as I was then worried that the poor service levels experienced would continue.
•Check In- having explained that I wanted to pay for the room before arrival and not hearing from anyone, I then had to explain my situation about losing my bank card and wanting to pay cash. I then got told that there was a limit on their cash intake and felt that one of the receptionist’s had an extremely bad attitude and that I was committing a crime by paying cash. Never have I ever been told that there is a limit to cash in any hotel I have stayed at.
• Rooms- The rooms are spacious rooms but again, there is nothing about them that justifies a 5* rating. The usual teas and coffees were free but you would expect a bottle of something complimentary to justify the money spent.
•Restaurants- We ate in The Glasshouse and Mahur’s we could not fault Mahur’s the service and food were outstanding, the staff literally went above and beyond. The glasshouse was majorly overpriced for what food was on offer. Priced at £88 per person. The food was cold, the plates were cold, nothing was explained to us about any of the stations and it wasn’t anything wow and definitely not a million dollar buffet, the restaurant was heaving with non hotel guests and extremely busy. I would expect that this restaurant for a hotel that prices a room at £600 would be of a better standard and would feel a little more exclusive. Maybe the hotel needs to close restaurant bookings to non residents during school holidays etc.
•Kids Facilities- There was a strict time for kids to use the pool between 3-5pm which I think is very limited for children especially in half term holidays. The walled garden activities were very poor and the mini landie experience was majorly overpriced at £40 for 20mins. The outdoor playground was getting renovated aswell as the kids indoor pool so not a lot for children to do at all.
•Check out- I arranged a meeting with the duty manager to explain about the glasshouse and my experience at check in. The Duty manager assured me that the glasshouse never gets bad feedback and that the buffet isn’t overpriced for the quality of food served but I’m sorry that couldn’t of been further from the truth the food choices weren’t of a million dollar buffet. We were expecting oysters, lobster, truffle pasta etc but non of this was on offer. I explained I wasn’t happy with the price as I had paid for 4 adults and we hardly ate as the food choices weren’t to our expectations. The Duty manager then stated if I didn’t like the food I should of left and they would of found us somewhere else to eat, which I wasn’t going to do with a 5 year old at 8:15pm at night. I was then assured at check out I could pay cash and that there would be no limit and I got £88 taken off my bill which for me still wasn’t enough. I feel that the answers I got from the Duty manager were well rehearsed and probably had been used on numerous occasions to other complaints.
I think that the Grove is clearly a hotel, catering especially for events and golf/spa stays.There is nothing really separating away from that. I would have much rather if stayed at the Langley and got better service but only for the fact it was more family friendly I chose here and now I’m regretting every minute of my decision.
Things are falsely advertised and for the price being charged it really is daylight robbery.
This hotel should be priced more at the £300 a night as that way you wouldn’t have such high expectations.
I literally could have stayed in the Savoy in London for the same amount I paid to stay here but ones thing for sure at least I would know that the service would be impeccable.
I’m appalled and disgusted.

Beautiful stay - outstanding staff
We just celebrated the most amazing Valentine’s Day with The Grove! From the start lovely Roger and Carlos helped us with our bags with a warm welcome, then our receptionist Jean was so helpful and her knowledge of the hotel and area was brilliant. Great start to our stay! Spa was beautiful, followed by a delicious meal at the stables - we absolutely loved our a waiter Arnold he was fun, charismatic and made our meal so special, thank you so much Arnold!

Worthy of its reputation!
This is a great hotel and definitely worthy of its reputation. We stayed for a night as a couple earlier on last month and enjoyed the pool and the spa area and both the evening meal and the breakfast the following day! I give the smoked bacon 100% for flavour.
The room was great, and well appointed and of a good size. The TV had a good selection of channels and the bathroom was fully equipped with a great standalone bath.
The Staff were very attentive and knew our name for the extent of the stay and took the liberty of booking us in the restaurant for the evening of our arrival in case we required it... a great thought!
We will definitely stay here again when visiting the South.

The hotel was lovely, the glasshouse is very nice with good cocktails and snacks.
Had the best massage ever with a Thai lady called Joe.
Hotel could do with modernising in the hall ways but apart from that stunning.
We will return in the summer with the children next time.
